Wheatbelt Wildflowers
Travel from rock to rock exploring the delicate, bright carpets of colour and the wildlife that lives amongst it. Wildflower season commences in July and concludes around October, the timing however is greatly influenced by the rainfall and sunshine received.
Make a day of it, have a picnic and enjoy a beautiful array of colours surrounding you. In a similar time frame local farmer's canola crops will be blooming, creating masses of yellow fields and amazing photo opportunities. Our wildflower season is a natural treasure to our town. The Nungarin CRC partnered with the Visitor Centre run an annual Wildflower tour. The tour ventures around the Shire to all the local hotspots giving passengers time to exit the bus and wander amongst the wildflowers. The dates of the event are dependent on blooming times and rainfall, usually falling in late September. Keep updated on the Nungarin wildflower season via our social media and local papers, subscribe to our wildflower brochure located on the home page. |
